Verification methodology

How DegreeScoutHQ verifies universities, official program sources, campus photos and indexable pages.

University identity

International university records are resolved to structured entities using strict country and institution-name matching. Duplicate entity identifiers are blocked by validation.

Each directory record must include an official HTTPS university URL before release.

Program verification

A degree record is treated as verified only when it links directly to an official university program source and is classified as a university source.

General university homepages and broad portal fallbacks can support university discovery, but they do not automatically qualify as program-level verification.

Campus images

Displayed campus images use reusable Wikimedia Commons files that pass entity and licensing checks. Missing images are allowed rather than replaced with synthetic or unrelated visuals.

Indexing quality gate

Individual degree pages are indexable when the program record passes verification. University profiles need at least three direct verified degree records before they are included as indexable university pages.

Filtered directory URLs are noindex to prevent thin faceted-search combinations from competing with curated landing pages.
